A 95-year-old woman named Clare Nowland died a week after being tasered by NSW police officer Kristian White at her nursing home in Cooma. White has been charged with manslaughter and is scheduled to appear in court next week. According to court documents, police were called to the nursing home after staff couldn't contact Nowland's next of kin, and they found her holding a knife. When an officer tried to grab the knife, Nowland slowly moved towards the group, and White allegedly used his taser on her without issuing a warning. Nowland fell and fractured her skull and later died in hospital. Her family has filed a civil case against the state of New South Wales over the incident, and White remains suspended from duty with pay.
