A new paper by Úlfar proposes techniques to secure existing C and C++ software without memory safety, which could prevent most RCE attacks. The approach selects four specific techniques that reinforce each other to establish guarantees about nested execution of functions and heap objects. An updated paper proposing this material for C++ standardization is expected soon.
