This refers to electronic and electrical devices that are not reused or recycled properly, ending up in landfills or dumpsters without proper management.The e-waste problem has negative environmental and health consequences. Toxins contained in these devices can contaminate water and soil, harming biodiversity and human health. Improper management of electronic waste can also lead to economic losses, such as the depletion of natural resources and degradation of the environment.To address this issue, proven measures must be implemented to reduce e-waste generation and improve its management. This can be achieved through recycling and reusing components, as well as promoting more sustainable consumption practices.In the initiative "Solucionar el problema de la e-basura" (STEP), it is proposed to standardize recycling globally and extend the lifespan of electronic devices to benefit those who technically manage these materials. Additionally, it is suggested to create awareness about e-waste generation and establish legislation that promotes reusing and recycling of these materials.In conclusion, electronic waste is a complex problem that requires sustainable and innovative solutions to address the environmental and economic challenges it poses.
