The German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) regulates the support for renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and biomass. The latest version of the EEG, effective since January 1, 2023, includes several changes:1. Increased FITs for offshore wind farms to reflect higher costs.2. Expansion of the feed-in tariff system to include biogas and solar installations.3. Creation of a new renewable energy source fund for additional financing.4. Greater emphasis on integrating renewable energy sources into the grid, including a grid connection fund and deadlines for installation connection.
